Brief Answer:
Likely to be folliculitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Going by description of tender swelling it is likely to be folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicle ). Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. It would be very helpful if you could provide me with clinical photograph for further assessment.

In the meantime I would suggest you the following

1. Hot Seitz bath : To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. The warmth of water will reduce pain and inflammation

2. Analgesic like Ibuprofen will provide you much needed relief

3 . local application of antibiotic ointment

4. Oral antibiotics
