Suggest Treatment For Small Bump On Roof Of Mouth

default
Posted on Sat, 8 Aug 2015
Question: I got a very small bump on the roof on the left side of the roof of my mouth 2.5 days ago. I had just finished eating salty cashews. Thought it was a blister and tried to pop it but it didn't pop. Now it is no longer a bump but a sore. Could it be a cold sore? Usually I only get them on my lips but my body has that same run down feeling.

Most probably yes

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There is high probability that its ordinary sore that can be caused due to multiple reasons. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- Apply somogel (combination of Lignocaine (Base), Menthol, Eucalyptol, Cetylpyridinium chloride, Ethanol) on small amount over thr sore. leave for 2-3 mins and then wash your mouth will plain water. Repeat this 3-4 times a day.
- Use any antiseptic mouth wash for your local store and use it twice a day.
- Food that will help:
soft, non-acidic foods, such as my omelette, mashed potatoes or mild, sauce-based foods like spaghetti. Try to take yogurt on daily basis.

- AVOID:
Acidic foods as citrus fruits, tomatoes, vinegars, pickles and ketchup while you're waiting for the ulcer to clear up.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!

I have acyclovir. Should I take it? How long until the run down feeling goes away. Typically with a lip cold sore I feel better after the sore opens...only then have to deal with the healing of the sore. This all started Sunday night...turned to sore yesterday.
