Suggest Treatment For Slow Dental Eruption In A 2 Year Old

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Oct 2016
Question: My daughter is just over 2 years and she only has 10-11 teeth till now. Her slow growth - of teeth - is a matter of concern to me. We gave her Vitamin D3, on doctor's advise, for 6 weeks when she was 9 months old. Now just one month back, we again started giving her Vitamin D3 but I am still not sure if it will be of any help. Please advise me with any medication/supplement that can help her!

Brief Answer:
Continue with vitamin D3 and start calcium supplement

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Don't worry. This is perfectly fine. Primary dental eruption usually show such wide variations.

Usually we do not recommend any treatment if child is growing and developing well. You may supplement her with vitamin D3 as suggested as it is usually deficient in most kids due to pollution and lack of sun exposure. Also, Calcium supplement such as Syp. Osteocalcium or Calcimax can be started if she doesn't show any new eruption for more than 4 months.

Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care

Thanks for your valuable suggestion! Also, I don't want to waste time at this moment since it's already been a long time and she find it difficult to chew anything as a result of which she restrain herself from solid food items.

Please let me know the dosage of Vitamin D3 and Calcium that I can give her?

With best regards...
