Suggest Treatment For Skin Tags On Neck

Question: Recently, I can't really tell how long, but maybe the last couple of years I have grown these moles in my upper torso but particularly in my neck ( you can see in the picture). They are very small but they are so many of them. Now, recently the ones on my neck have started to itch. I wear shirt with a tie everyday and there is a lot to rubbing in that area so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Can you tell me more about this ? Why do they come out ? Are they bad ? Could they be bad ? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Skin tags

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I read history and looked at photo you posted. It seems that you are having a disease called SKIN TAGS. It is also called ACROCHORDON. It is a benign condition and is harmless. The condition is not bad and will not become bad..as it does not progress to malignancy. The condition remains as it is,if untreated.

Exact cause is not known. Small multiple growths containing fibrous tissue may occur at any age in any person without any cause. There may be genetic tendency. The condition may occur in association with dyslipidemias, diabetes mellitus and obesity.

As the codition is harmless..it may be kept untreated. If you feel embarassing..you may go for trreatment..

Electrocautery is A cheapest minor procedure done under local anaesthesia to remove all skin tags. That may be done by dermatologist..so, you consult dermatologist. Other methods of treatment are cryotherapy and laser therapy.

You may take antihistaminics like levocetirizine to relieve itch sensation.

I hope this might help you. If have any query..you may ask.

Thanks.
