1 wash the area frequently using fresh water without any additives

2 Keep the part well ventilated and avoid exposure to sun, deos, powders etc

Please supply the following information and your query will betaken up on priority

1 Location of rash, is it bilateral or only on one side, itching or another symptom
2 History of having medication of any kind in two weeks prior to appearance of rash
3 Any fever or viral infection recently

Nothing had changed recently before the rash appeared. It started as one spot under my breast on a Friday and had spread to cover most of the front of my torso by Monday. I was experiencing total body itching that had been previously body numbness which I was seeing a neurologist for as well as uncharacteristic weakness in my right side. After MRI'S and other tests he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. When the rash returned it started with a larger patch and spread under my bra line quite quickly. I didn't have any fever. The farmers were harvesting wheat and beans. The doctor who prescribed the prednisone thought it might be an allergy as he had never seen anything like it. I took 3 10 mg pills for 3 days and then 2 for 3 days and then 1 for 3 days.

Helpful information

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam

Welcome back with more description.

Thanks for letting me know the necessary details.

It is good that you are off Prednisolone now. The issue can be managed with only topical creams though these might not give a very fast response but will be very safe.

1 Fluticasone or Clobetasol ointment is a good choice and need to be used twice daily

2 After the rash has stabilized continuously for two days or more , one needs to dilute the above creams with plain cold cream using equal proportions and to mix just before applying. This should continue till rash is gone.

3 Anti allergics are necessary like Levocetirizine 5 mg to 10 mg per day or as per need.

Other precautions as explained in my previous message

The most likely cause would have been an exaggerated response to atmospheric changes or changes in the air constituents accentuated by the friction between body folds. Hence protection by keeping the area covered but with loose garments is a priority.

We wish you early recovery and good health, always!

sorry, I was at a school musical and my phone didn't have enough battery to continue this discussion. If I understand, you believe the cause is an allergic response. I remember some more details that might be interesting. Several weeks before the rash I developed large bumps on the back of my throat that were extremely sore and didn't respond to the normal treatments I do for a sore throat. I still have some bumps but they are not as sore. It is curious to me the location of my rashes. I thank you for your response and suggestions. I'm not sure how to avoid this reaction in the future. Will the Levocetirizine help with the exaggerated response? Is it a prescription or over the counter? How do I know when to take it?

Brief Answer:
No worries

Detailed Answer:

Hi Madam,

Welcome back!

You have provided details which I have analyzed in the light of your problem. The throat problem does not appear to be related to this episode.

I believe that problem that you encountered on skin was related to an allergic phenomenon. A person can be allergic to one or more products and such products can become less or more allergenic with time.

I also feel that by following the suggestions outlined previously, you should be largely free from any such problem in future.

Please let me know if I can help you in anyway.
Levocetrizine is antiallergic which to the best of my knowledge should be easily available. Please check with your pharmacist. It can be taken at the onset of symptoms and should be continued till the problem is resolved. If levocetrizine is not available, you can consider an alternative Zyrtec which has Cetrizine 10 mg. Zyrtec is available over the counter.

Ideally, it should be taken at night, just before you go to bed.

Best wishes for early recovery!
