default
Posted on Fri, 16 Dec 2016
Question: What could be the cause? I notice i get really weak and shaky in my hands and legs when i dont have enough food in my body . Or when i am overly hungry . Like due to late lunch and all . I feel better after eating . Is this a cause for concern ? I didnt have such problems before. Could it be side effects of my medication ?

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to hypoglycemia, a side effect of Omeprazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Your symptoms suggest hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar ) and when you eat food, the low sugar is corrected and you become symptom free. You can confirm this by doing a blood sugar when the symptoms occur.
This can be a side effect of Omeprazole which is a proton pump inhibitor. You could stop the medicine and see if the symptom improves.
