Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Fluconazole
Question: I've been having rather severe body aches & pains for the last month, accompanied by low grade fevers (usually around 99.8-100). The oddest symptom is that my stools are an ocre yellow. I've only once had this problem and it was gall bladder related (accompanied by very sharp, severe, knife-like pain to that area). The pain I have seems to be everywhere, but especially around my kidneys. However, I'm hydrated, my urine is pale yellow, and I'm not experiencing any pain or urgency with urination, nor foul odor.

Regarding your concern, I think that mostly this could be as side effects of Fluconazole (if you are still taking) or a gall bladder infection.
Could you please let me know if you are still taking the Fluconazole or not?
It is known that Fluconazole could have all these side effects i.e. fever, light-colored stools, general feeling of tiredness or weakness, joint or muscle pain, lower back or side pain etc.
So, based on these above-mentioned symptoms, I'd suggest to do a physical examination by your doctor, an abdominal ultrasound (to see specially the gall bladder region, since you've had a problem already in the past and the kidneys to exclude stones/other causes for any obstructions), CBC, creatinine, AST/ALT, bilirubin, amylase, urine analysis in order to achieve a better diagnosis.

My Dr took me off the fluconazole (200mg PO BID); last dose was March 3rd.
I had labs drawn on the 6th- I have not been able to get a hold of her or of my results yet. I guess I assumed if they were abnormal, she'd contact me. I'll make an appointment on Monday unless things get worse; (I'm thinking of Urgent Care or ED if not?).
I wasn't sure if I should have told you that I had a really bad case of the "GI flu" Monday the 13-18. I was nauseous all day Monday ( I awoke with it), and then had vomiting & diarrhea for four days, plus another day of dry heaves. I wasn't able to keep even sips of Pedialyte down until Saturday the 18th. I had a fever that ranged from 99.9 - 101.6. I am still running a low grade fever - it hovers around 99.0 - 99.9 - on and off throughout the day & night.
So now I'm wondering if it truly was a GI Flu or maybe gallbladder infection, or other infection? No one else in my family has caught this "flu".
So then Monday- if not sooner- I'll ask for an abdominal ultrasound and the labs you've suggested.
