Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Donepezil HCL

Question: I had been taking Donepezil HCL 5 MG for a slight problem with verbalizing - NOT with remembering details, just getting mostly names out -- JUST FOR A MOMENT - like saying the name of someone during a conversation - after a couple of seconds the right name would come. I was not happy with the situation, although no one complained. I told the doctor that "I" was not happy with the situation. He increased the dosage to 10 mg. After about two weeks, I have had a couple of bouts of throwing up and/or diaharia and a little bit of anxiety. Shall I go back to the 5mg?

Brief Answer:
If Donezepil side effects, then decrease the dose.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Since the problem with verbalizing is just mild and you started to experience bothersome side effects of Donezepil, I think you should get back to your previous dose (5 mg),

However, it is necessary to discuss with your Doctor about these issues and about excluding other causes of your symptoms such gastroenteric tract infections, etc.

In other words, if Donezepil is the culprit, you should diminish the dose.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
