Suggest Treatment For Severe Upper Abdominal Pain

Question: We went to the ER in August as my husband was complaining of a severe upper stomach pain. (Mid you he would never agree to go to ER unless is was a 10) He was told at that time he has a sludgy gallbladder with gallstones, however that was not the major issue, he was diagnosed with possible CML, which was confirmed. He has had more bouts of severe stomach pain since. Sometimes eating too much, sometimes not eating at all. ??? He was taking Omeprazole prior to the taking of Tasigna for the CML. We have been told do not take it any longer as it will decrease the effectiveness of the Tasigna. So here we are with this new medication. It is VERY expensive (however we will pay) but I see that this is to treat ulcer type problems.
My question is this: Is there any connection to the Tasigna and this medication? We have been told there can be no other antacid that can be taken with this. Not being in the medical field, I want to know more. His WBC has gone back from 142.5 to 6.7. The Tasigna is working. I am just in need of maybe more suggestions... I thank you for any information that can be provided.

Brief Answer:
Tasigna contains Nilotinib and is for CML. I am glad it is working.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM,
Tasigna contains Nilotinib and is for CML. I am glad it is working.
Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and meant for hyperacidity.
Since acid is required for absorption of Tasigna, your doctors have told you not to take any acid suppressant.
However his problem is gall bladder sludging and gall stones for which he can take bile salts like UDIHEP-300. This should help him. You can revert back to me. Regards
