Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain With Acid Reflux And Body Pain

Question: I woke up yesterday night with throat pain which went away when I sat upright. I thought it was acid reflux, which I have been having for a week and have had reflux before. I have been taking pantaparazole for last 5 days. I saw my doc yesterday and he thought the same and asked me to continue. today though it is 1 am now and I have been sitting and sleeping fearing acid reflux if I lie down, my throat pain is severe and terrible body ache like flu with no temperature. worried as to not sure what it is. help

It could be pharyngitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like Pharyngitis. In acid reflux disease,though you have throat pain,body pains are not seen.
You should take a prokinetic agent like Levosulpiride150 daily along with Pantaprazole.I prefer Rabeprazole 20mg twice daily instead of Pantaprazole. I also add Sucralfate along with Oxetacaine syrup to my patients with similar complaints.
You should consult an ENT specialist and exclude pharyngitis. If it is confirmed , you should take Antibiotic and Anti inflammatory tablet.
Nothing to worry.It will come down.
