Question: my daughter 7 years old is having severe stomach pain since last 5 hours. I think it might be a stomach infection as we had eaten outside for last few days. Have given her colic aid in morning but did not help. Then gave her metrogyl 2 hours back. She was ok for 1 hour. Now again she is having pain, have just given her 5 ml tricaine antacid.

Brief Answer:
Continue tricaine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
It could very well be food poisoning.
Don't worry.
Try tricaine before food.
I also prescribe probiotic like bifilac twice daily for such patients.
Avoid metrogyl unless prescribed after consulting a doctor.
Colic aid might give some relief.
Ensure she drinks liquids like Ors to keep hydrated.

It is better to consult your pediatrician or nearby doctor if pain does not settle in another few hours.
Sometimes acute stomach pain can also be due to various causes including appendicitis which needs clinical examination.
Wishing your daughter good health
Regards
Dr Arun
