Suggest Treatment For Severe Sinusitis
Question: my sinus' are totally blocked. Drainage down throat causes me to spit up the mucous. Temperature only minor raised, 98.9 . Hard cough that causes pain in my upper right quadrant of my lungs, Haven't slept in two days, tried sitting up but drainage interferes. Not sure if it is really bad pollen count reaction or something worse. Went to the VA clinic locally, but they were too busy to see me. I'm 71. I just want to breath! No idea what to take. Any ideas?

Sinusitis might be difficult to treat. Sinuses are air pockets deep inside our skull and since the blood supply is poor, medicines do not reach there properly. Steam inhalation is however helpful and may help you to breathe properly. Water in the form of vapor can reach deep inside the sinuses and may help in diluting the cough and should provide relief.
Sinusitis usually has an allergic cause and could be related to some sort of viral respiratory tract infections. Pollens may or may not be involved. Some antiallergic like Zyrtec taken for a few days can be helpful.

Are you talking about just water steam or is there some medication within the water I need to buy over-the counter?
