tension headache

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to see that you are bothered by scalp pain. Since the traumatic brain injury was over 40 years ago I do not think this is the cause of your current pain. Also since there is no recent trauma skin rashes or insect bites then it is unlikely to be shingles or allergic reactions. I think on that basis you are probably have muscle spasms of the scalp muscles which is related to tension headaches. The degenerative disk disease may also cause muscle tenderness and spasms that can go from the back of the head to the scalp.

I would recommend using OTC tylenol or ibuprofen. If that does not help then see your medical provider as there are some prescription strength medication that will help.

I hope I answered your question. please contact us again if you have any additional questions
