Question: My husband has a severe rash in between his buttocks, starting from underneath his testicles and extending up to his anus . The rash itches and is tender to the touch. It is very red and looks almost like a sever diaper rash. He has tried desitin, anti-itch plus, medicated body powder, hydrocortisone, and end-it. Nothing seems to work. Help! Brief Answer:
Antifungal cream...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It would have been good if you had posted a picture of affected areas. Nonetheless, the area described is a common ground for fungal infection - Tinea cruris. I would treat him with antifungal medications instead of diaper rash and hydrocortisone creams. Antifungal like lotrimin is easily available over the counter at pharmacy stores. He can apply lotrimin cream thrice a day for 3 weeks and see if it gets better.

Oral antifungal agents are better choice for large infections such as the one described above. However you need a prescription to get those. Therefore visiting his doctor is worthwhile.

Hope this helps.

Regards
