Question: i had a sudden extreme head pain, unlike my usual migraine. Then sure I was left to deal with snow and terrible problems on my own,,I began an argument with my husband! What you need to know is I live in the high desert 60 miles north of Los Angles and that my husband was not at home at the time. This is the first week of june!I had to reach out to my self and talk my self down and out of this unreasonable state of mind and go lie down. My head was in so much pain all on the right side and still today the rt side of my face is numb and mushy, FYI i do i cervical stenosis and no discs from c-2 to c-7 but to affect my thinking ability worries me far more than all the pain. (the stenosis extends yo my tail bone)

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I am sorry about the pain and emotional issues you have experienced.

Judging by your mentioning migraine and spinal issues I imagine you have chronic pain issues. Apart from oversensitivization to pain which could change pain perception, it is common in these cases to develop also mood and anxiety disorders which could explain that type of episode.
However, while I do consider the episode to be related to your chronic issues, the fact that you describe an extreme sudden pain like you never had before worries me a little, because having those other problems doesn't make you immune to new conditions like stroke. For that region since the pain is persisting with face numbness I do recommend a physical exam by your doctor to check for other neurological signs which might call for brain imaging.
If no such findings will be present I wouldn't add any new therapies for the moment. If seemingly persistent/recurring I would consider adding an antidepressant drug such as amitriptyline or duloxetine which are used both for chronic pain as well as mood disorders.

I hope to have been of help.
