I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that not all elbow pain is related to coronary artery disease or cardiac ischemia.

Your symptoms could be related to other different causes:

- a pinched nerve
- musculo-skeletal pain
- inflammation.

Besides, your symptoms are not typical of a cardiac disorders (as the pain is worse when driving, but not during straining physical activity; the fact that the pain is persistent is another argument which excludes coronary artery disease ).

Nevertheless, I would recommend consulting with your GP and performing some tests:

- a resting ECG
- an elbow X ray study
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- a nerve conduction study to exclude a pinched nerve ( which would explain why the pain is more prominent during driving).

Only if the above tests result normal, and the pain is not relieved by painkillers (acetaminophen, ibuprofen), I would recommend performing a cardiac stress test.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
