Brief Answer:
bacterial infection,doxycycline will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,Thanks for writing to health care magic.I can understand your concern.

Milky discharge in your case is probably due to secondary bacterial infection.

Erosions and ulcers occurring in genital herpes leads to invasion of bacteria. This leads to secondary infection and white discharge.

It will be important to keep area clean.V wash is a good liquid cleanser. It is available on counters.

Continue with your course of valtrex.

Since you have no response to monastat I will advise to stop this medication.

For complete cure of discharge you may need to take oral antibiotics. In my opinion doxycycline works effectively in your case.A dose of 100 mg twice daily for 10 days will be effective. You may need a prescription for it.

I hope this will help you.In case of any concern I will be happy to help you.Take care.

You saying bacterial becuase of the white discharge that smells? My outbreak always (from what i notice) are on the outside at one spot of my inner lips. And i never seen it open. Maybe it did that might explain the one day of pink tinged discharge i had. Just fustrating
