Question: I have chronic severe back pain that has been unresponsive to maximum dose norspam patches and mild response to panadeine forte which, because of side effects, has been changed to palexia SR 50mg. Brief Answer:
Consult a pain specialist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain that you have is due to nerve root compression due to degenerative changes in the spine. If the pain killers are not helping then you need stronger pain killers or epidural analgesia to help you. You can consult a pain clinic for the same.
If surgical treatment is not recommended then only prescription medicines can help you.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
