Question: i have severe liver functions exesive alcohol i stopped drinking after going hpspital 8 weeks ago i stopped overnight drinking been illever since only me to blame only i now have swollen stomach elephant legs huge painful ,given water tablets not work any sujestion i no my fault but struggle to walk more than teo miles with dog appreciate any ideas thankink u in anticipation.

It seems that you have severe alcoholic liver disease. You have generalized body swelling which is not responding to spironolactone. Though you have not mentioned your albumin level, I assume that is low.

In that case injectable albumin for 3 days should be able to reduce the swelling a lot. After that, you can continue the medicines.
