Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain
Question: hi, i am having very severe abdominal pain since last night around 6 pm, i threw up around 5 times around 10 PM, have had small black stools, the last one about 10 minutes ago, I drank a glass of wine at a party yesterday around 12:00 - ate some appetizers and the pain started soon after that. I took a prilosec and some peptobismol. I have been taking some allergy OTC medicine to try and manage my runny nose. I keep thinking the pain will subside but it continues and it is knife-like and severe, I haven't slept. I don't want to go to the ED but I'm afraid I will have to as it isn't stopping. is there anything I can do here at home to get the pain to stop? thanks

1.What is the exact site of pain?whether it is above bellybutton or below?whether it is on right side or left side?
2.Did you pass black coloured stool before?
As per your description, the symptoms started after food and wine.It could be due to infection of the gut. Prilosec and Peptobismol will work in acid peptic disease.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Levofloxacin 250mg twice daily,Cap Omeprazole/Tablet Rabeprazole along with Pre and Probiotic capsule twice daily to my patients with similar complaints.
You can continue with Prilosec .As you need Antibiotic, you should consult your doctor and get appropriate prescription.
Colour of the stool is due to the type of food that you have taken.
