Posted on Tue, 31 Jan 2017
Question: Hi
I currently have a UTI, for which I am taking bactrim. This is my second UTI in a month. I took cipro for the first one (it came on post operative - hysterectomy). I've noticed black specks in my urine over the last couple of days. Otherwise, no symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Hi

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for writing.
I understand your concern.

Since you said UTI I would like to know how many pus cells were there in the urine?Did you get a urine culture done to know the organism? Was it a clean catch?

If the culture shows no growth then there is no need if any antibiotics.. If there is recurrent infection then you can take cranberry extract for 1 month.

Black specksin urine can be tiny kidney stones which is excreted or tiny blood clots.. can you upload ur urine report?

Hope I have answered your query. looking forward for your reply. Feel free to ask any doubts. Good day.
