Question: Hi,
Have had gum recession for a few years and had them filled with no problem at all. Recently went to a bew dentist who refilled them and now the front tooth which is terribly receeded aches and bleeds when i brush.
I yse an electric toothbrush and floss and mouthrinse morning and night.
Gum recession is in the family, mine is from heavy handed brushing.
Basically im scared i will lose my front tooth. Its not loose but very sensitive. Im hoping this is just due ti the bad filling.
Im going to see a peridontist next week.

Brief Answer:
Filling impinging the gums, reconturing , Scaling.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain, symptoms and the image that you have attached, it seems that the filling is impinging deep into the gums and it is leading to inflammation in the gums..

Also if you brush vigorously it will further cause bleeding and pain due to injury to the gums..

I would suggest you to consult your dentist who did the filling and get evaluated so that he can do a deeper cleaning of the gum to remove any impinging fragments of the filling material..

Secondly he can also recontour the filling so that there is no excess filling in the gum region..

You should also use a soft toothbrush for brushing your teeth and preferably use a manual toothbrush..

Use gentle brushing motion and do not be vigorous..

You should also gargle with antiseptic mouthwash..

Do warm saline gargles..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
