Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Seizure disorder or epilepsy is a chronic condition requiring medicines for a long time, even lifelong in some cases.

Among the list of medications, Dicorate ER, Levtam and Zonicep are anti-seizure medications. They block abnormal electrical discharges from the brain, preventing the seizures. They are reasonably safe, however may cause weight gain/hair loss/tremors of hands (Dicorate ER), behavioral changes (Levtam), drowsiness, etc.

Inderal is a beta blocker and prevents the recurrence of headache in conditions such as migraine. It is a safe drug and does not cause any side effects.

Facitab and Ferium XT are iron supplements and are used for treating anemia (low hemoglobin).

I hope my reply has helped you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Your friend can undergo MRI brain-epilepsy protocol and EEG to determine the type of seizures.

The medications are required for a minimum of three seizure-free years.
