Question: My child 6 years old. She has to take valporin chrono 300 everday advise by doctor. EEG abnormal. She is 100% secure of these medicine ?

Valparin Chrono contains a medicine called sodium valproate which might be essential to be taken by persons with seizure disorder or abnormal EEG. Let me mention that all anticonvulsants have side effects. But still they are indispensible and need to be taken religiously by patients with abnormal EEG. Usually they are well tolerated and unless you have already faced any side effects, I do not think that you need to worry about them. Here the risk reward ratio stands in favour of administering the medicine regularly since, if you do not give this medicine, the effects that your child would have (the seizures) are more detrimental than the medicine itself.

It is possible that your child still has seizures on medication. It does nor mean that the medicine is not effective. It means that the dose might need to be modified.
