Brief Answer:
Seborrheic dermatitis responds to topical steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

Seborrheic dermatitis presents as itchy, scaly, red patches at various body sites like scalp, face, chest, genitals etc

It is a steroid responsive dermatosis.

I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g either fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream Or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, twice daily.

I used for about 2 months Nizoral ointment. Some relief but not much.

Brief Answer:
Seborrheic dermatitis responds remarkably to topical steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

The cream that you use contains ketoconazole which is also an antiseborrheic agent, however, it may not be enough to clear it.
Ketoconazole is more suitable for milder involvement and for maintenance of improvement.

Seborrheic dermatitis responds very well to topical steroids.
You may try to find one of the topical steroids that I had mentioned in my earlier reply and use twice daily.

Topical steroids usually bring about remarkable improvement in about 2 weeks, thereafter, if required you may switch to ketoconazole for any remaining milder involvement.

Brief Answer:
You may use a gentle cleanser; avoid soaps

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Soaps are harsh for already dry and irritated/ inflammed skin of seborrheic dermatitis. You should avoid them.
You may rather use a gentle cleanser e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.
