Suggest Treatment For Redness And Pain In Finger

default
Posted on Tue, 12 Jan 2016
Question: I felt like I had burned the outer side of my right hand today, and noticed a fairly large red, warm blotch right under my pinkie finger. This has happened in the past, but I have never hit it, cut it, etc. when it suddenly appears.

No more questions, just will wait for results. Thank you!

peripheral neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query,
Probably you have ddeveloped peripheral neuropathy.
It is a condition where nerves in a particular part of body get irritated and lead to development of redness and pain.
I treat such cases with methylcobalamine supplement.
It gives good response within a week.
Can you please upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in guiding you better.

Since I'm not tech-savvy, not sure how to send a photo of my hand. It looks a little better today, and isn't as warm to the touch. I have written down the information you sent, and will look it up online. Thank you so much!

The redness is almost gone, but I did look up peripheral neuropathy. Since I do tend towards low or high blood sugar, I have a glucometer, and tested my blood sugar on Saturday when I got out of bed in the morning. Since it was 80, I don't think it's a blood sugar issue. Is there another way to get this condition?

Brief Answer:
vitamin B 12 deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Peripheral neuropathy can even happen due to lack of vitamin B 12.
It's not necessarily associated with blood sugar.
Just take B 12 supplement.
You should get response.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
