Brief Answer:
You should use the cream at least 2 week.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to HealchcareMagic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The redness and the small cuts under the head of penis might be caused from a fungal infection or it might be just a rash from friction to the underwear.

Your doctor has prescribed the right treatment which is an antifungal cream(Clotrimazole) to treat the fungal infection and betamethasone which is a strong steroid to treat the inflammation in the affected area.
It is important to use the cream in the right way.
-Clean the affected area with warm/clean water ,dry it with a clean towel and then apply the cream twice daily for at least 2 weeks.
-You should avoid soap or shampoo ,they make the irritation worse.
-Wear loose and cotton underwear .
-Avoid sexual intercourse or masturbation until these small cuts are totally healed because erections can stretch the skin and don't allow these cuts to heal.

If after 2 weeks of using correctly the cream ,the lesion is still there ,then I suggest to consult a dermatologist and get examined to figure out what is causing this.

Hope this helps.

After using it a few weeks ago the cuts were gone but the redness stayed. He said that I maybe getting a reaction from the steroid cream. Told me to stop with it and the color would go back to normal. I had intercourse last nite and the cuts came back. Haven't had intercourse in two weeks prior to this. Don't have sex for a month? Oh my !

Brief Answer:
They seems to be friction cuts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Since you have used the cream (clotrimazole/betamethasone) for 2 weeks and the redness didn't go away ,it is possible that it might be a reaction to steroid cream.

You are having friction cuts under the head of the penis.
You should avoid sexual intercourse or masturbation until these cuts are healed.
You can use calamine gel on the affected area to help with the sensitivity and to prevent infections.
You also can use vaseline on this area to keep the skin moisturised and ease the healing process.

I understand that this might be difficult but you should avoid sexual intercourse until the skin of the penis is totally healed.
After it is totally healed you should keep the skin of penis always moisturised and avoid rough intercourse to prevent further cuts.

Kind Regards,
Dr.Rovena
