Suggest Treatment For Red Rash On Both Arms And Back Area

default
Posted on Fri, 26 Dec 2014
Question: I have a very red rash on both arms and on back. I saw a dermatologist 10 days ago, he said he thought the rash was caused by eye drops (latanoprost) told me to stop drops and the rash will disappear in a few weeks.
Today the rash on my arms are particularly very red and somewhat itchy. My dermatologist is not in, I wonder if I should go to emergency room or wait until tomorrow.

Brief Answer:
See your doctor soon ,since rash increased

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
From the description you have provided,it looks like you have developed a severe allergic skin rash .
Although the offending agent was specified by your doctor ,but still the rash is persisting .
So I think there is surely a need to see your doctor again as soon as possible so that other possibilities can be ruled out .
Also if the rash is particularly red ,itchy and bothersome ,you can go to the emergency and a shot of injectable steroid or antihistamines might be useful for immediate relief .

Hope it helps
