Suggest Treatment For Red Painful Sore On Toe

Question: I have a sore on my right second toe that's extremely painful, red and swollen, since Thursday when it began. It does not ooze, bleed or drain anything, I didn't hit it on anything, it's not athletes foot. Today I have a rash extending up both legs and a few on my chest. These are not painful, swollen, itchy or Oozing anything. I had chicken pox as a child and also shingles a few years ago. I was also in a wooded area with overgrown grass early last week wearing flip flops while I took the dog for a walk. The sore on my toe initially looked like a bullseye but soon became red and inflamed. I don't see any embedded tick or insect. I did feel like I was getting the flu near the end of the week and had a low grade fever. I have not tried any new products, creams, foods etc that might give me an allergy.

Hello,
I have studied your case. Rash and toe pain can be two different problems. It is very rare to have toe pain and rash due to single condition except an insect bite. Before I advised you any further I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1. Are you taking any medicines since long time ?
2. Are you still having fever ?

Hello,
thanks for replying. I have studied your toe image and I think it is infective lesion in the toe. For this I would recommend you to take following treatment.
1.Antibiotics likely Augmentin 625 mg thrice daily for three days.
2.Tablet Brufen for inflammation.
3.For rash, at present you do not need any medication. I think it is due to fever you are having. Brufen and antibiotics will improve temperature also.
4.Apply local antiseptic cream like Mupirocin ointment at toe. Avoid dust and water at toe.
