Suggest Treatment For Red And Itchy Hemorrhoids

Question: I was diagnosed with hemorrhoids a few months back after noticing blood on the toilet paper after I wiped. I have internal and most likely an external. Recently after a particularly soft and large bowel movement the area around my anus has become very red, and itchy after I wiped. The area is all the way around the anus and a bit above as well. I have been using preparation h to no avail.. Mostly it causes a moist feeling and feels pretty gross when flatulence emits. I am a very clean individual, and do nothing else in that region other than defecate. What could possibly be causing this and how do I rid myself of the red and itch?

Brief Answer:
Try some corticosteroid cream

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
hemorrhoids can be really upsetting. You haven't mentioned pain. Are they painful?
If this red and itching hemorrhoid is severely painful then you should go to a surgeon immediately because it could be a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.
I gather from your description that there is some inflammation in the area. You could try a corticosteroid cream for a couple of days or a little more if you find relief.
Hemorrhoids can not be really cured, once you've got them, they stay forever. They can only get worse. On the long term you can avoid irritating them by eating a lot of fiber, drinking enough water and exercising. These measures prevent the formation of hard dehydrated stool that injure the hemorrhoids and make defecation difficult, requiring a lot of straining - which of course is bad for the hemorrhoids.
I hope I've given you some insight on the subject!
If you have any more questions, I'll be glad to answer.
Kind Regards!
