Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Mouth Ulcers

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Jul 2015
Question: I have had 7 mouth ulcers for a week now. Despite rinsing with Orajel hydrogen peroxide wash, it seems to be getting worse. All of my lymph nodes along my throat are swollen and all the tissue along the sides my tongue and uvula are turning white. This morning I now have yellow bumps along the back of my throat.
Should I see a doctor or dentist? I have a bottle of Omnicef, would that help?

Brief Answer:
Upper respiratory tract infection with ulcer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question and the image.
I can understand your concern.

The clinical image shows granular congestion of throat, could be due to infection. There is also an ulcer over the uvular area.

I recommend the following.
1) Avoid stress.
2) Take adequate rest and sleep.
3) Avoid smoking. If you not a smoker, kindly ignore the suggestion.
4) Local anesthetic based gargling.
5) Avoid spicy food.
6) A course of antibiotics.
7) Analgesic like tablet ibuprofen only If pain present.
Consult your GP or ENT doctor. Omnicef is discontinued in some countries.

You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
