Brief Answer:
Topical &Oral antifungals; Need more details about skin problem on ear

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I have understood your concern.

Groin area is prone to fungal infection because groin folds trap moisture and are warm, thus provide a conducive environment for fungal growth.

Fungal infection/ tinea can recur after treatment, if conditions conducive for fungal growth tend to prevail, particularly in hot, humid weather in summers.

I suggest you to use a topical antifungal cream preferably in combination with a mild topical steroid e.g clotrimazole 1% + beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025% combination cream. You may use it twice daily for 4 weeks.

Along with topical antifungals I also usually suggest an oral antifungal in my patients of tinea e.g weekly fluconazole for 4-6 weeks.
Oral antifungals are prescription drugs. These should always be taken under supervision of a dermatologist.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for a clinical confirmatory examination and for the needful

An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

Once the infection resolves you may use an antifungal dusting powder regularly in the groin folds.
This would keep the folds dry and being antifungal would also be inhibitory to fungal growth.

General measures would include bathing twice daily specially in summers and wearing loose fitting cotton undergarments and cotton clothes

Regarding the issue on auricle I will keep a possibility of either seborrheic dermatitis which usually presents as dry, red, scaly, itchy patches on pinna Or it could be a fungal infection/ Tinea, which is my second possibility.

Is it on both sides Or only on one side?
