Question: I slipped over while on a bush walk tearing rectus femoris mussel above left knee I can walk but driving is out.Can,t see doctor until wednesday

I read your question and i understand your concern. With only rectus femoris tear, and normal mobility , i believe it can wait till wednesday. Till then, rest, physical therapy, ice compressions and painkillers is all you need. With diabetes in history delay in recovery is possible and it may take more than a month or two till full recovery. There is four sets of muscle one of which is rectus femoris. So you are still in pretty good shape. Although an emergency visit to rule out any neurological damage or vascular compromise or compartment syndrome etc should be sorted out. Once done, mere rectus femoris injury can wait.
