Suggest Treatment For Rectal Bleeding

Question: Hi
My wife 29 year old is having rectal bleeding and she goes to pass stool 4-5 times in a day.
She doesn't have any pain but stool test is showing occult blood as positive with pus cell 3-4.
It is for last 15 days and no relief.
We visited gastroenterologist today and he gave medicine- daflon, mahacef oz, rutin and viloz d.
I like to understand what could be the possible reason.

I understand your concern.
Possibly it could be some infection like Amebiasis or colitis since it's short duration history.
Worthwhile continuing the medication he has prescribed.
If symptoms persist then can consider repeating an stool examination with occult blood on two occasions if still abnormal may need to undergo an colonoscopy to look for rare causes like inflammatory bowel disease. Also do not strain for stools take lot of fiber in diet. Drink lots of water to compensate for dehydration and keep stools soft.

Dear Doctor,
Thanks for your revert. Just to brief you that she was on anti biotic for 5 days but there is no relief. Just want to know that if there is no pain, is there any chance of polyps or ulceritis? Would like to understand that is polyps life threatening? Is it curable?

Well polyps are unlikely as they usually do not present with bloody diarrhea. Ulcerations are possible but could be due to infection or inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis which can only be confirmed by colonoscopy. Worthwhile repeating two more stool examination and then decide on colonoscopy.

Thanks doctor... We are continuing these medicines and will visit gastroenterologist tomorrow again. She is not having any relief in bleeding and motions. Could it be diverticulum?
There is no pain yet.

Unlikely it is diverticulosis it usually causes profuse bleeding.
