Suggest Treatment For Pulled Muscle On Right Side Of Flank Region?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Feb 2015
Question: Hi. A few weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my right side flank. The pain is not severe and comes and goes but I particularly notice it when I swallow something very hot or very cold. The discomfort isn't intense but it is noticeable. It doesn't feel "deep" inside my gut; it almost feels close to my skin.

What do you suggest?

Brief Answer:
Apply hot compress, take juicy fruits, visit a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully the details. Muscle spasm is a common phenomenon that could indeed be occurring. But still, you need to be examined properly before a proper diagnosis can be made. I would suggest you to do the following:
* Apply hot compress.
* Take juicy fruits like citrus fruits, and banana. They contain plenty of potassium, the deficiency of which could cause muscle spasms.
* Regular light free-hand exercise.

Apart from this, definitely visit a doctor and get yourself evaluated. The actual cause may be commented upon only after a proper examination. You also need to be assessed for calcium deficiency which is common in women of your age.
