Question: hi my husband is diabete 2 and this few days he's been sweaty at nite and not sleeping he has had a couple Shakes could this be a hyper.

Rather than Hyper most likely due to hypoglycemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

Whatever symptoms you have mentioned are most likely due to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level).
In such situation I may suggest to check blood sugar level with glucometer immediately. If blood sugar is below 70 hypoglycemia is confirmed.
Once hypoglycemia is confirmed or if glucometer is not available treat these episodes like hypoglycemia. Give him 1 table spoon full glucose powder dissolved in a glass of water to drink immediately and after that give something like 2 to 3 marrie biscuits or bread or chapati to eat.

Better to report these episode to his treating diabetologist immediately, there may be need to change antidiabetic medicines. Also there may be need for detailed physical examination to rule out other causes.
