Brief Answer:
Candidal Balanoposthitis; Oral and Topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic.

I suggest a possibility of Candidal Balanoposthitis.

This condition usually presents as swelling of the foreskin/prepuce of penis, difficulty retracting prepuce, circumferential cuts and itching.

Etiology is Candida/ yeast. Yes, this is not a venereal disease.

Candidal balanoposthitis is more common and recurrent in diabetics unless the blood sugar is under strict ontrol.

Treatment includes Oral antifungal e.g Fluconazole. A single dose is usually sufficient.

Topically you may also use an antifungal+ steroid combination cream e.g Clotrimazole 1% + Beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025% combination cream, twice daily for a week.

You can check if this combination is available from a drug store near you.

It is equally important to keep your blood sugar levels under control to prevent a recurrence.
