Suggest Treatment For Poor Concentration While Having ADHD

Posted on Fri, 9 Dec 2016
Question: Good Afternoon,
I'm a 36 year old case manager and yet I am only part-time. I have medicaid and medicare and generally I find few Psychiatrists that accept my insurance, and if they do the intake wait time for an evaluation can be months.
In addition to this I decided last fall to go back to school for my Social Work degree.
As a child and throughout high school I had taken various medications for my ADHD. I didn't immediately attend college and when I tried I often found myself unable to finish a semester.
I gave up for many years thinking I'm just not college material.
I have finally begun again, and AGAIN I have trouble focusing, I try to take online classes to reduce Distractions but I'm struggling so much that I dont think I can handle another semester. ADHD medications have come a long way since I was in High School and I really want a bachelors. When I was on medications my grades were very good. And I felt calmer.
I think I would like to discuss trying medication again.
I need help.

You can ask me any questions about medications. I will be glad to assist you.

are you able to assist in prescribing what you think is best ? I am able to provide my last psycho-social after a 3 hr psych exam for any learning disabilities which clearly shows my lack of concentration skills are hindering my academic (and social functioning??)

Brief Answer:
I am not supposed to prescribe

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Prescription is priviledge to doctors who see you personally and examine you. Being a online doctor for you I am not supposed to prescribe anything because my medical council do not permit for same.

I think this is in interest of patient and we need to comply with regulatory authorities.

having said this you can send me the report so I can advice you accordingly.

Thanks and regards.
