Brief Answer:
Seems eustachian tube dysfunction-needs ent examination

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that your husband is having ear block with buzzing sound in ear. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any cold (running nose) ?
Is your ear block associated with throat pain ?

Kindly get back to me with the details.

Here my possibility according to your given history and further management:

As per your clinical details, it appears to be eustachian (tube connecting middle ear and nose) tube dysfunction, secondary to nose or sinus infection.

I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detailed Ent examination (cold, allergy), nasal endoscopy (deviated nasal septum, sinusitis,), if necessary audiometry (to know the status of eustachian tube, degree of hearing loss). Depending on the examination findings, further treatment can be started.

Get back to me with details and if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

He does have a runny nose. He also says his throat is swollen? He was very concerned about hearing music? Is that also a symptom?

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Yes, ringing sensation and mild hearing loss is common with blockage of Eustachian tube secondary to sinusitis.

Kindly evaluate with the investigations, what, I have already mentioned.

All the best. Take care.
