Question: My son was diagnosed with pinworms without any signs of worms except scratching. What should I do for cleaning?

Hello

Thanks for the query

I can understand your concern.In most of the children pinworms does not causes any symptoms.Scratching in the perianal area particularly during night is an important and can be the only symptom of pinworm infestation.
You can get his stool examined for the worms.
Giving antihelminthic like albendazole or mebendazole helps in clearing the worms.
Maintenance of proper hygiene(hand wash and nail cutting) is important to prevent reinfection.
