Suggest Treatment For Persistent Throat Pain

Question: my 16 yr old daughter woke up with swollen throat, pain on left side of throat that goes behind the ear. Last week she had a tooth extracted and bone grafting. Could this be related or if you have tonsils swollen, shouldn't they both be swollen, not just on one side.

It is possible that in acute tonsillitis one tonsil is more affected than the other. But at the same time some complications due to the recent surgery can't be ruled out. The referred pain in ear can be due to tonsillitis as well as due to some tooth space infection or abscess formation.
My advise to you is that please send me the pictures of her throat or get her examined by an ENT SPECIALIST.
Follow up with the required information so that I can suggest you better.
