Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending a question.

If you have had heavy nose bleeding it would certainly be beneficial for you to have a direct examination of your nostril by a specialist. Cauterization is sometimes indicated but thorough examination is necessary to help determine the exact cause of the bleeding.

in addition, your doctor might request some blood testing to make sure your blood is coagulating normally. A platelet count may also be helpful as well because a low platelet count can sometimes predisposed to spontaneous nosebleeds.

if you're taking any blood thinners it is extremely important that your doctor is aware of this as well. Blood dinners include aspirin, some anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or Coumadin among others.

Again I think since you have had significant bleeding it would be beneficial to have a direct examination of the inside of your nose. Please schedule a follow-up visit with your doctor or specialist as soon as possible.

Thanks again for sending the question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
