Suggest Treatment For Persistent Neck Pain

Question: I have had neck pain for the last 2 years. I am trying to figure out why. Can't really get an answer. Ct scan showed nothing wrong. Doctor just keeps giving me muscle relaxers. My neck locked up on my at work 3 weeks ago. I went into emergency and the doctor said I had Torticollis. He gave me pain killers and muscle relaxers which helped. After I used all the medication my neck is just back to where it is always sore and I am just waiting to have another spasm. I have been going to a massage therapist for the last 3 months with little to no results. When I urinate my right foot tingles which I find odd. I also take the drug Tecta for acid reflux. Maybe there is a connection there somewhere with my neck pain? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I do at time spend a lot of time on the computer. I have been told my posture is pretty bad but I think it has to do with my neck pain. I do not have Diabetes. I don't think I do anyway. It does run in my family though. I used to smoke. I quit a year ago. I am in pretty good shape usually. I am not overweight. One other thing. When I urinate my right foot tingles which I find very odd.

Brief Answer:
You need to focus on physiotherapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I can assure you that best treatment for neck pain is neck muscle strengthening exercises. As you mentioned that your neck posture is wrong due to pain. So you need to take muscle relaxant during initial time of physiotherapy because it can increase pain. Once your pain is under control then you can use correct posture. You need to avoid sitting for long time in front of computer. In between you need to do stretching your exercises.
Smoking is also not good for disease. So try to quit is as soon as possible.
I would also recommend you to get MRI to see if their is any nerve compression that can be cause of tingling in foot during urination. Tablet Pregabalin M one at night time can also be useful.
thanks
