Posted on Mon, 15 Feb 2016
Question: I've had a constant migrane-like pain in my right temple for the last 4-5 days. What could be causing this? Also, unsure if it's unrelated, but my right upper arm has a dull pain, it hurts more when I cough. I had a pretty bad cold last week, am I just recovering?Adding some additional information:

Recently feeling fatigued a lot, I have high blood pressure (no medication), and I don't drink but I do smoke. No drugs, no medications. I take primrose and vitamin D daily.

I want to assure that you are having not a major illness and the symptoms you are facing are all natural and consistent with recovery phase of the respiratory infection.

You had a recent bad cold infection ( respiratory infection ) and this type of illness usually is also associated with cough. Frequent coughing casuses headache mimicking as if it is migraine. The arm pain is a muscular pain and is usually due to the same reason aforementioned. Other cause is fluid and electrolyte imbalance. Actually our blood and body cells have a measured amount of water and salts that is always needed to be present in righ tproperotion. If there is an imbalance as in certain illnesses, it causes loss of normal function of muscles and other structures. Pain in muscles and general malaise, fatigue of unsure cause are one of the main manifestations.

You need to take proper rest and keep a judicious supply of fluids and clean drinking water. You may start with Oral rehydration solution that will fulfil the deficiency of nutrients and will also lead to proper hydration. Take ACETAMINOPHEN for pain in body and muscles and for headache too. Do, gargles with lukewarm saline water to avoid the need for coughing. Keep a healthy and balanced diet. No junk and fried foods and spices. Apply heat pad and BENGAY ULTRASTRETCH OINTMENT to right arm where you feel pain.

You will be alright in a few days to a week as this is self limiting course of events.
