Brief Answer:
Chondromalacia

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

You could be having signs of Chondromalacia or cartilage damage in the knee cap bone.

It can aggravate on climbing stairs as well as getting up from sitting position.

Apply hot packs to the affected region. Take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after meals and Tablet Ranitidine twice a day before meals for 5 days. Apply pain killer gel. Do static quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises. Avoid high endurance or stress activities that involve flexion of the knees.

Avoid squatting, cross leg sitting, climbing stairs and kneeling.

Do get Skyline view, and lateral view X-rays of the knee and please upload for my review.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
