Brief Answer:
acute gastritis with indigestion.Try some symptomatic medications.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and understand the concern about indigestion.

From the facts you have shared here,I would like to say that symptom of gastric pain is likely because of acute gastritis with indigestion, the first possibility I will think in your case.

At present, I would suggest you to try some symptomatic over the counter medications with STRICT dietary precautions during your Dubai trip. This may give you some relief.

1) Take over the counter antacids tablets like Tab.Pantoprazole 40mg or Tab.Rabiprazole 20mg with Tab.Gas-X (generic name: Simethicone) twice daily.

Avoid taking over the counter pain killers.

2) Take syrup Digene 2 TSF three times a day, will also be helpful.

3) Take Digestive enzymes (like Unienzyme or pancreatin once daily which is available over the counter) will also be helpful in the digestion of carbohydrates.

4) Avoid eating full stomach, take small meals frequently.

5) Avoid complex carbohydrates like beans, potato and carbonated beverages and milk based products which are hard to digest.

6) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Avoid hot, oily and spicy foods and prefer HOME food. Take soft diet only for initial few days.

With above symptomatic treatment and dietary precautions,we would expect to see some improvement within 2 or 3 days.

But in case if problem persists longer or even after above precautions, then it would be advisable to see physician or gastro-physician for further evaluation..

Hope this detailed explanation will be helpful.

Dear doctor,

Thanks for the detailed list of medicines. Do i get theses tablets in Dubai pharmacies?

Also just to add, if I have a 10 to 15 minutes walk after a meal I feel little good in digestion. Is it something with my obesity as well?

Every few minutes interval i can feel a gas like stomach burning in stomach which later then avoiding me to burp.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
available in Dubai pharmacies.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for the quick follow-up,

Most probably, all these medications will be available in Dubai pharmacies and if not, then they might be available by some other brand names. You can ask the pharmacist for the same.

Yes,I agree with you that daily walking for about 10 or 15 minutes is helpful for the good digestion but obesity is not directly linked to the indigestion unless your food habit is not good.

Avoid eating full stomach one at a time rather, take small meals frequently.

Do not take bed rest for at least 2 hours following meal.

Avoid talking which eating, as doing so may also cause further gas formation inside stomach.

By above dietary precautions and symptomatic over the counter medications, you will certainly see some improvement.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
