Brief Answer:
My answer is as follows

Detailed Answer:
Hello, madame. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.

As everything in our world as exists, is prone to the gravitational force. It is normal to feel your heart beat when you lie on your left side, as the heart comes closer to the rib cage. It is also taught to us, in medical school, just for your personal information, that various problems with the heart that cannot be found in other positions, are found when the patient lies on the left side. I am telling you this, to describe you that the heart is very close to the rib cage, while you lie on the left side.

However, just to be in the clear, regarding your age of 67 years old, I would recommend you to perform an EKG, to assess your heart conduction and electrical systems in resting state.

To sum up, referring to the symptom you are describing, my opinion is that there is nothing to worry about.

I hope I was helpful. If you have follow-up questions, I am happy to help. Please rate the answer, if you do not.

Wish you a good health

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
