Question: Hi,
I am having countious cough, i am taking arithromicine for last two days. No fever, but due to cough body pain is there, sonetime running nose.

Kindly advise

Hi,

Cough and runny nose are few common symptoms which can occur due to upper respiratory tract infection or allergies. In the absence of fever, I don't think starting azithromycin was a good choice. However you should complete course as instructed.

In addition you can consider starting antihistamine cough syrup such as benadryl to control cough and runny nose. Steam inhalation and antacid medications will also support the treatment.

Though you may get some relief, cough might persist for a week or two. If it lasts for more than 2 weeks or if it starts to trouble your sleep, please visit a doctor nearby for detailed evaluation.
