Suggest Treatment For Penile Rashes In A Child

Question: HI,

My 21 month old son is having some kind of allergy in the top of penis. Photo attached. He is wearing diapers for around 14 to 15hrs a day...can it be due to that? Please suggest any cream? Can I apply siloderm mixi or shield to the outer top part of his penis. Any other medication needed? Please suggest.

Thanks for query .Based on photograph and fact that you have posted your son has developed allergic reaction of the foreskin and penis to dipper which is common to occur

You need to use Steroid cream (Benovate cream) along with antibiotic like Norfloxcin 200 mg twice daily .

Use loose inner ware .Avoid using dippers for couple of days or use loose dippers.

Apply anti dippers cream before putting dipper.

Change dipper frequently 3-4 times in a day .

Wash his genitals with warm water twice daily .

It should get cured within 3-4 days .

Thank you Doctor. I did not made him wear diaper in day today and i am attaching the recent protograph. please check. The allergy looks less comparatively to what i posted before. Currently i am in US for some work.

1) Can you suggest if the infection or allergy looks fine to you. If no, Can you suggest sime over the counter medicine for time being as here the pharmacy do not givenedicies without written prescription. or Do you suggest me to visit pediatric.
2) can i put diaper rash cream on the top of his penis before making him wear diape? Is it safe? Please advise.

There is no harm in putting anti dipper cream on foreskin .It has anti allergic properties .

I cannot find Betnovate cream in Walmart. Can you please suggest some other cream which might be available in that store... different brand different name. If feasible, if you can give me link of the ointiment in walmart store

Also currently i have following three creams. Can i apply any of these on top of his penis?.
