Brief Answer:
Investigations in case of stroke....

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to helathcaremagic for an opinion,
The fact that your father had a paralytic attack while travelling, this can be attributed to either a hemorrhage, stroke or a transient ischaemic attack ( TIA) secondary to possible Hypertensive crisis.
If he has been hypertensive then he has to undergo a complete panel of tests:-
COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT, LIVER FUNCTION TESTS, KIDNEY FUNCTION TESTS, COAGULATION STUDIES, BLOOD SUGAR PROFILE, LIPID PROFILE.
The most important next step shall be CT SCAN with CONTRAST to delineate the lesion in the brain and localize the cause of stroke. This may be hemorrhhage, a rupture aneurysm or TIA. Based on the diagnosis a conservative or a surgical active approach may be decided. If there is progressive loss of motor functions, then it indicates an ongoing hemorrhage and hematoma increasing in size which shall require evacuation of the same with BURR-HOLE surgery.
Please visit your physician for a detailed motor and sensory examination followed by these tests.
